COMEBACK KID PROFIL

Comeback Kid announce ‘Turn It Around’ anniversary tour with original vocalist
Comeback Kid is a Canadian punk band from WinnipegManitoba. Formed in 2002, the band is signed to Victory Records. Their name comes from a headline in a newspaper about hockey player, Mario Lemieux coming back to the NHL.[1] The band was formed in 2002 by Andrew Neufeld and Jeremy Hiebert who were both members of the band Figure Four, which is currently on hiatus. They were joined by their friends Scott Wade and Kyle Profeta, but CBK was originally intended only to be a side project.[2] Their initial popularity was mainly due to word of mouth within the hardcore scene.
Upon releasing Turn It Around on Facedown Records in 2003, Comeback Kid began touring full time, covering most of North America as well as Europe. They also appeared on many high profile hardcore festivals like Hellfest and Posi Numbers festival. Following the touring for Turn it Around, Comeback Kid entered the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado to begin recording their sophomore full length.
In February 2005 Comeback Kid released "Wake the Dead," their first for Victory Records. After some long tours, vocalist Scott Wade left the band. Neufeld became the band's vocalist, and they began recording their third album "Broadcasting". The release of Broadcasting was followed by more steady touring, culminating with a summer long tour supporting Rise Against in North America, and their first appearance on the "Never Say Die" tour in Europe with Parkway Drive. By the end of 2007 the band was to take a short hiatus. At this time bass player Kevin Call left the band on good terms, issuing a statement regarding leaving Comeback Kid.
Call was replaced by Matt Keil who had played in Minneapolis area bands with Hjelmberg. Two more years of touring followed, with the band visiting South East Asia and Latin America for the first times.
In 2008 a CD/DVD was released called "Through The Noise" which is a line from the song "Industry Standards" off of "Broadcasting..." . The DVD is a documentary of the first 6 years of Comeback Kid. The CD is a live recording of a show in Leipzig, Germany filmed in fall 2007. A release tour in Canada followed, named the "Through the Noise Tour." It featured Bane, Misery Signals, Shai Hulud, Grave Maker, and Outbreak. While on this tour Gravemaker suffered a van accident with Neufeld in the vehicle, which inspired the song "G.M. Vincent and I" off 2010's "Symptoms and Cures."
After two years of international touring, the band spent much of 2010 writing and recording their fourth studio album, "Symptoms and Cures" which was released in Canada by Distort Entertainment and internationally by Victory Records. Two more installments of the "Through the Noise" tour followed in North America and Europe.
In early 2012 guitarist Casey Hjelmberg announced he would be leaving the band. Stu Ross of Misery Signals/Living with Lions will assume guitar duties.
Neufeld confirmed that the band is writing new material this moment, but the progress is quite delayed as the band has many touring plans at the moment. They're also planning a 10th Anniversary Show for the release of their first full-length record Turn It Around, with their former vocalist Scott Wade in 2013.[3]
On September 21st 2013, Comeback Kid stated on their facebook page they would have started recording a new full-length album.[4]

GAMELAN

lirik lagu Your Demise- The kids We Used To Be

So this is the song I write for everyone who I never forgot*
The kids we used to be are all dead, gone and forgotten.
Black eyed boys and bright eyed girls,
Friday night love and Saturday morning regrets,
Summers came and went, but the love never left.

So let's bring back the best years,
Nights spent hanging out not giving a fuck, being down on our luck.
Some people say that best friends stay same, but I'll prove you wrong.

Sticks and stones never broke our bones,
Standing outside our homes watching the sun come up,
5am never looked so beautiful, and feeling beaten and jaded never felt so good.
I can't wait for tomorrow to come around.

I know I can still hear the singing from the basement and I know you can too.
The smoke still rises.

VANS

Vans
Vans is a United States (U.S.)-based manufacturer of shoes—the company also produces apparel, such as t-shirts, hooded jumpers, socks, hats, and backpacks. As of August 2013, the brand is active in the actions sports industry and sponsors skateboard, surf, snow, BMX, and Moto Xteams.[2]
On March 16, 1966, at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, California, U.S., brothers Paul Van Doren and James Van Doren, Gordon Lee, and Serge D'Elia opened the first Vans store under the name The Van Doren Rubber Company. Paul Van Doren and D'Elia owned the majority of the company, while James Van Doren and Lee each owned a 10 percent stake. The business manufactured shoes and sold them directly to the public. On that first morning, twelve customers purchased Vans deck shoes, which are now known as "Authentic". The company displayed three styles of shoes, which were priced between US$2.49 and US$4.99, but on the opening day, the company had only manufactured display models without any inventory ready to sell—the store rack boxes were actually empty.[3]
The company continued to grow into the 1970s. Skateboarders who liked Vans' rugged make-up and sticky sole were seen wearing Vans all over Southern California in the early 1970s. In 1975, the Vans "#95", known today as the "Era", was designed by professional skateboarder Tony Alva and skateboarding figure Stacy Peralta. With a padded collar and different color combinations, the Era became the shoe of choice for a generation of skateboarders due to the non-slip bottom being more conducive for a better grip.
In 1976, Vans introduced the "#44" shoe, and with the help of skateboarders and BMX riders, the Vans "Slip-On" became popular in Southern California. By the end of the 1970s, Vans had established seventy stores in California, U.S., and sold through dealers, both nationally and internationally.

STRAIGHT EDGE

Straight edge is a subculture and subgenre of hardcore punk whose adherents refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, and other recreational drugs. It was a direct reaction to the sexual revolution, hedonism, and excess associated with punk rock.[1][2] For some, this extends to not engaging in promiscuous sex, following a vegetarian or vegan diet, and not using caffeine or prescription drugs.[1] The term was adopted from the song "Straight Edge" by the 1980s hardcore punk band Minor Threat.[3]
Straight edge emerged amid the mid-1980s hardcore punk scene. Since then, a wide variety of beliefs and ideas have been associated with some members of the movement, including vegetarianism,[4] animal rights,[4] and Christianity.[5] While the commonly expressed aspects of the straight edge subculture have been abstinence of alcohol, nicotine, and illegal drugs, there have been considerable variations on how far to take the interpretations of "abstaining from intoxicants" or "living drug free." Disagreements often pertain to the primary reasons for living straight edge. Straight edge politics vary widely, from left-wing and revolutionary, to conservative.[6]
While some straight edge groups are treated as a "gang" by law enforcement officials,[7] a 2006 study found the vast majority of people who identify as straight edge are nonviolent.[8] However, the public's overall perception of Straight edge has largely been negative.
While the early Washington, DC, hardcore punk scene is often praised for its commitment to positive social change, both the youth crew movement of the 1980s and the vegan movement of the 1990s have drawn criticism. Both movements have been accused of extreme male dominance, violence, and intolerance, while the latter is also criticized for its self-righteous militancy.
These perceptions have been reinforced by violent outbreaks between rival straight edge groups in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Reno, Nevada. The "gang" classification by these cities' police departments was exploited by the corporate media. For these reasons, straight edge has often been approached with skepticism, ridicule, and hostility, despite the ideologically less dogmatic and more multifaceted character of contemporary straight edge.[9]
Authors have adopted a variety of terms for the subculture as well as for individuals that have adopted the lifestyle.[10] Several permutations of the term have been adopted by straightedge,[5]straight-edge, and straight edge.
Straight edge grew out of hardcore punk in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and was partly characterized by shouted rather than sung vocals.[13]Straight edge individuals of this early era often associated with the original punk ideals such as individualism, disdain for work and school, and live-for-the-moment attitudes.[11]
Straight edge sentiments can be found in songs by the early 1980s band Minor Threat, most explicitly within their song "Straight Edge",[14] first wave English punk band The Vibrators song "Keep It Clean" and Jonathan Richman's early band The Modern Lovers 1970s song "I'm Straight", which rejected drug use.[15] As one of the few prominent 1970s hard rock icons to explicitly eschew alcohol and drug use, singer/guitarist Ted Nugent was also a key influence on the straight edge ideology.[16]
Straight edge started on the East Coast of the United States in Washington D.C., and quickly spread throughout the US and Canada.[17] By the 1980s, bands on the West Coast of the United States, such as America's Hardcore (A.H.C.), Stalag 13, Justice League and Uniform Choice, were gaining popularity. In the early stages of this subculture's history, concerts often consisted of non-straight-edge punk bands along with straight edge bands. Circumstances soon changed and the early 1980s would eventually be viewed as the time "before the two scenes separated".[13] Early straight edge bands included: the Washington D.C. bands Minor ThreatState of Alert (S.O.A.), Government IssueTeen Idles and The Faith; Reno's 7 Seconds; Boston's SSDDYS and Negative FX; California bands as mentioned above; and New York City bands such as Cause for Alarm and The Abused.[3][18][19]
During the youth crew era, which started in the mid-1980s, the influence of music on the straight edge scene seemed to be at an all-time high. The new branches of straight edge that came about during this era seemed to originate from ideas presented in songs. Many youth crew bands had a strongheavy metal influence.[23] Notable youth crew bands included: Youth of Today,[23] Gorilla Biscuits,[23] JudgeBoldChain of StrengthUniform Choice, and Slapshot.[24]
Starting in the mid-1980s, the band Youth of Today became associated with the straight edge movement, and their song "Youth Crew" expressed a desire to unite the scene into a movement.[25] Vegetarianism became an important theme in straight edge during this era,[26] starting with Youth of Today's 1988 song "No More", which contained the lyrics: "Meat-eating, flesh-eating, think about it. So callous this crime we commit".[27] This catalyzed a trend towards animal rights and veganism within the straight edge movement that would reach its peak in the 1990s.[26]
